San Sebastian Aquarium-Oceanography Museum

Two sharks, known as Txuri and Kontxita, are the most popular residents in a site with over 5000 living specimens. Tropical fish, species from the Cantabrian, dangerous fish and jellyfish occupy different themed aquariums. However, since the Aquarium was extended in 1998, the star has been the large oceanarium, with almost two million litres of water. Walking through the acrylic tunnel we can see, just like in the bottom of the sea, how sharks, skates and an endless number of species swim, eat and live. The real skeleton of an eleven metre whale, captured off the Guipuzcoa coast, continues to preside over the entrance to this underwater adventure.
