El Peine del Viento

The Peine del Viento could be considered a work of art between Eduardo Chillida and nature. The sculptor was fascinated by the waves which crashed against the western end of the Donostia bay. In 1977 three pieces of steel secured in the rocks were added to the work.

Going past Ondarreta and walking along the Tenis road, developed in granite by the architect Luis Peña Ganchegui, is to enter into a different space, with the sea as the backdrop and the coming together of steel and rock as the protagonist. On stormy days, the spectacle is unforgettable.
