The goal of Zerain Cultural Park, which was promoted by residents of Zerain who reclaimed local heritage and organised an ethnographic museum, is to show the customs and the evolving lifestyle of a small rural town.
Zerain is a small town in Goierri with just 250 inhabitants, who have always worked in agriculture and in exploiting the natural resources. In its struggle against depopulation, Zerain is working on reclaiming its heritage and promoting its agricultural products. This is what led to the setting up of an ethnographic museum, which displays tools, furniture and objects which document traditional ways of life. All the pieces in the museum were donated by residents of Zerain.
The ethnographic museum extends, with its vocation of "cultural park", to other elements of the town: a 1711 prison, the mining complex of Aizpea, the hydraulic sawmill of Larrondo...
