URRELUR museum of minerals and fossils

People interested in mineralogy and paleontology will appreciate the collection which the Aguado-Goñi family temporarily let to Urretxu Town Council and which, with the support of Gipuzkoa Provincial Government, finally bought and extended until it has become a museum which is open to everybody.
The minerals section has 1000 pieces in display cabinets, grouped together in eleven sections, in line with the typology of the materials. The original name, source and chemical formula of all the minerals, many of them collected in the Basque Country, are known. The fossils, which were collected from the five continents, are displayed in a timeline, illustrating the different geological eras.
