Descripción

Traditionally considered to be of Roman origin, the architecture of the current bridge nevertheless responds to more recent technical and typological parameters. This magnificent bridge, the construction of which cannot be dated further back than the 16th century, saw significant extension of its right section during the first half of the 17th century, and has been subject to important reforms since then.

The bridge has thirteen semicircular arches, six of them with a large span. During subsequent reforms the stone ledges were added on both sides of the bridge.
Its length is 99 m and its width, without sidings and cutwaters, is around 4.50 m.

On the bridge, the old roadway built by the Romans can still be recognised in the road which leads to the town.
