One of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Álava can be found in the Church of Santa Maria de los Reyes in Laguardia. A building which is most notable for its 15th century portico with images of the 12 Apostles supporting the arches, its ornamental elements with vegetal motifs and its polychromies on the outside of the temple. On the inside, worthy of note is the outstanding major altarpiece, which dates from the 17th century.
