The Arch of Santa Ana is the only remaining gate of the original six that formed part of the wall that surrounded the town in medieval times.
In olden times this was called the "Market Gate", through which all the merchandise passed that the town needed for its subsistence.
This arch is of the XVIII century construction, replacing an earlier one.
The arch we see today takes the form of a triumphal arch, and it is baroque in style.
