TORRE DE MURGA

The Medieval Tower of Murga (declared of Cultural Interest in 1984) is a privately owned building consisting of a tower built in the 14th century and an additional palace added in the 16th century. This emblematic building is located in the privileged setting of the Ayala Valley, situated 15 minutes away from Vitoria and 45 from Bilbao.

The venue has convenient parking, within walking distance. Surrounded by exceptional natural beauty with native meadows and oak forests, little has changed in the landscape since the 13th century. Secluded within its own grounds, the Murga Medieval Tower offers a quiet and private setting.
The interior has several multipurpose spaces recently restored respecting its original features as well as accommodating 21st century amenities. The ground floor arches brings the outdoors indoors bighting up the space. While in the inner side of the ground floor one can still spot its original loop holes used in the past to defend the tower through the discharge of arrows. The main dining area is located on the first floor featuring numerous balconies overlooking the river and offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains, the Sierra Salvada and the nearby txakoli vineyard.

The venue operates in two distinct ways, allowing the client as much choice and flexibility as possible. "Dry Hire" means choosing from a range of suppliers that have been carefully selected and for you to manage your own event; alternatively you can discuss your specific needs with our "IN House" event organiser to create a bespoke event.
